Our local apex predator, healthy female grizzly bears might weigh up to 800 pounds while a male grizzly can weigh up to 1,700 pounds - both can live to 25 years old. Grizzly babies are born naked and blind mid winter - weighing about 1 pound. We all love grizzlies, but keep your distance!
