The Valhalla Squamish Trail Fund gives back to the BC Marine Trails Network
In September, 2021, the Trail Fund contributed $9,000 to the construction of tent pads at two popular Marine Trail campsites: Tantalus Landing and Islets View, part of the Sea-to-Sky Marine Trail. Howe Sound’s steep granite walls mean there are very few good landings, and even fewer level spots to pitch a tent, so man-made platforms are a necessity.
A huge thanks to Steve Best and Nick Heath who did all the planning, permitting, fundraising, material sourcing and work party organizing that went into this project. And a special thanks to every one of you who purchases VPO logo’d gear at the Squamish store. All of the gross profit from those sales goes directly into the Trail Fund and into our local outdoor infrastructure. Your dollars helped fund this construction project which will be enjoyed for many years to come. Thank you!
