This isn’t just a nalgene, it’s a tent pad, a new bolt, and a picnic table.
When you buy VPO logo’d gear from the Squamish shop, your money funds outdoor projects in our community through the Valhalla Squamish Trail Fund. With an aim of contributing more to the local outdoor community, the Fund supports the construction, maintenance, and upgrading of outdoor recreation infrastructure in the Squamish area.
The Trail Fund is only two years old and already it’s contributed more than $16,000 to infrastructure improvements in the Squamish outdoors in places like Echo Lake, Watersprite Lake, Half Nelson, and many others. Not to mention the hundreds of hours donated by volunteers, none more so than founder and VPO Squamish owner, Murray Sovereign.
But here’s the best part. The entire project is funded by contributions from the VPO Squamish store. In Murray’s words:
“Whenever someone buys anything with the “Valhalla Pure” logo splashed across it, we take the entire gross profit from that sale and put it in the fund.
Basically, we feel that if a person is going to pay to carry around an advertisement for our business, the least we can do is put our share of that sale toward projects that might benefit that person and their friends.
So, any time someone buys one of our VPO-logo’d water bottles, ski straps, ball caps, stickers etc, they’re supporting the Valhalla Squamish Trail Fund. It’s that simple.”
